How to Fill a House with Water
This is large front bedroom as it was framed in October. The shingles are on the roof, but there was still water in the basement. Huh? Well I went upstairs to see if there were roof holes that were leaking and I found this. Apparently the HVAC guys were installing ducts and one absent-mindedly laid the duct on the sill. Then they left for a few days - more like 2 weeks. Well it rained and the water pouring off the roof simply ran into the duct and accross the floor. Luckily, it ran down the inside of the wall and into the dining room below. If not for that, it would have ruined the hardwood stairs. Oak often turns black if it gets wet - especially if there is colorant from metal in it. Note the trees haven't even begun to change. Weird!
