| TJI joists are made from laminated "head" pieces and an OSB web. OSB and broducts made from it are Weyerhouser products that claim to be stronger and more consistent than plywood. They use it for everything now. The web site claims that TJI beams and joists can be made in any practical length. The top and bottom head pieces are made from 1/8 inch strips of wood laminated horizontally. The web fits in a tapered groove and the whole thing is pressed and glued with a waterproof resin-based adhesive. This particular product is known as SilentFloor-ProTM. |
