| The basement floor was poured on a really hot day in full sun. The concrete dried out instead of setting, causing shrinking as the water evaporated. I suspect the concrete was already setting in the delivery truck. Its what happened to the driveway at S. Cameron. I have already contacted the builder about my non acceptance and they say the concrete subcontractor has not been paid and will "fix" the problem. Later on I found that the entire slab was so soft you could kick chunks out of it with your shoe and remove the surface by sweeping it. I'm going to demand that they replace the entire basement floor slab and also the garage which is the same way. |
