The timer shown in the picture above was made several years ago to rapidly fulfill a need for a small box
that could be use in logging timeed events. The unit was completely designed and built at PC Designs. Total time
to delivery was about a month.
The unit includes a liquid crystal display (LCD) and a microprocessor. The unit was programmed in assembly
code to allow the complete program to reside in internal memory, thus lowering overall cost.
On the top can be seen the four buttons that control the functions. The button location was designed
in cooperation with the users, who found that in using the prototype, the unit would slide if the buttons
were on the front face. Even though it appeared to be more difficult to mount the buttons on top, a unified
board design allowed the buttons to be mounted with the rest of the components, thereby eliminating one board
and an extra cable. The name was selected because of the small size and low cost (minimal timer).
This unit can be modified for a variety of uses and is available for purchase. Please request information at the
left.
